“INTERNATIONAL INDIGENOUSNESS İN THE CLASSICAL TURKISH LITERATURE SYMPOSIUM”

A symposium titled “International Indigenousness in the Classic Turkish Literature Symposium” is organized by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature on April 23 and 24, 2020.

In the event, which starts with the opening speeches of our rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Güzel, our Dean of the Faculty of Prof. Dr. Çimen Atak and our Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Köksal, 28 academics from abroad and inland presented their papers. The symposium, which was organized online, continued for two days, with papers trying to identify all kinds of “indigenous” elements within the framework of Classical Turkish Literature.

In the evaluation session held at the end of the event, which was followed with high participation, especially students, it was emphasized that this activity has undertaken a pioneering task on the subject. The opinion was expressed that, with the publication of the presented papers, the gap seen in this area will be filled to a great extent. The symposium ended with the participants taking a souvenir photo in a virtual environment.
