Learning is a never-ending process for man. For the human being who spends every moment of his life by learning something in one way or another, the place of education in a certain discipline is the university desks, and the step towards specialization of this process is undoubtedly the university. This period is the beginning phase of a flow that will continue to evolve, turn, and possibly until the end of human life. In this regard, your preferences, orientations and, most importantly, your personal efforts will be determinative in this process, both during the selection of the department and during the learning after choosing it.
İKÜ Department of Turkish Language and Literature provides you an education process in which you can learn the development of Turkish Language, its history and today's Turkish dialects. Also you will learn the eras of Turkish Literature and its main elements. In other words, you will learn the subtleties, features, leading names and works of this literature and Turkish language.
In the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, you will find a contemporary and unique educational process, under the supervision of faculty members, each of whom has competent and successful names, in the center of the student, in the peculiar discipline of Turkishness Science, where current developments are associated with historical accumulation. You can be sure that this process will add a lot to you. As you get to know our literary products, which we can call the reflection of the great Turkish history to the texts in the best way, your vocabulary, your writing and expression skills will improve with it. When you first arrive at the department, you will start collecting pearls in time in the depths of the vast sea where you approached timidly at the beginning.
In addition to teaching in public schools and private schools, graduates of our department have the opportunity to work in many jobs and professions such as expertise in public archives and libraries, copywriting, editorial, consultancy and proofreading in press and publishing institutions and organizations. In addition, many of our graduates have completed their master's and doctorate degrees and a considerable number of our graduates are currently working as academics in different universities of our country. In this regard, I can easily say that the students of İKÜ Turkish Language and Literature Department have made a good choice. Now it is up to you to make an effort….
